Long-tailed Skink

This coppery-hued long-tailed skink was observed near a garden pond at Nairobi's City Park, Kenya. It is about 10 cm in length. 2 October 2010. The one at right was found slithering through turf grass at the Nairobi Museum, March, 2013.

The skink at left was observed in moist, secondary woodland at City Park in Nairobi. A small garden pond was nearby. It is about 10 cm long. The tail is regrowing after the skink apparently encountered a predator of some kind.
