Observed at Iten, Kenya, January 2012.

Several species of Coeliades skippers are found on the African continent. They are thick bodied and often have bold marks or yellow and or white. Their flight is rapid and strong. This one is likely the Striped Policeman, Coeliades forestan. Many lepidoptera feed in the larval stage on a few related plants, however, Coeliades is able to feed on a wide variety of unrelated plants.
