Water Thick-knee

The water thick-knee, which can reach up to 45 cm in height, has long legs and brown-and-white plumage which provides camouflage, making it difficult to spot the bird in tall grass near lake shores. Thick-knee refers to the prominent joints in the long yellow-greenish legs.
