Birds that forage for their prey and food in the shady understory of forseted areas tend to be largely brown and gray and shades thereof. Fruit and especially insects and spiders form the bulk of this bird's diet. This species is widespread across Sub-Sahara Africa in forested areas. The scientific genus name for this bird has been revised several time as more detailed genetic evidence is discovered.
