During the day when most wild life watchers are about, this bird is hiding behind a well-camouflaged plumage while remaining perfectly still. It sits on the ground in the partial shade of an acacia bush until dusk when it becomes active hunting for terrestrial arthropods. This bird has also been known as Heuglin's Courser.
