LEAVES: The nearly circular leaves are leathery and very rough on upper surface; the undersides are set with rusty trichomes.

TREE or SHRUB: Trees with multiple stems or large shrubs in mature specimens.

FLOWERS: The flowers are white, with five united petals, five stamens, and a short tube. The flowers are grouped into scorpioid clusters that are further arranged into a flat-topped cluster.

RANGE: Several species of this genus are found in Kenya.

FRUIT: The bright orange fruits are globose and berry-like - these harden and usually contain one seed.

UNARMED.
