Observed in range grassland near Kiserian, Kenya. December 2015.

FLOWERS: The small but bright blue and white flowers are set in a tight scorpioid (curved like a scorpion's tail) inflorescence.

HERBACEOUS: One or several mostly herbaceous stems about a meter in height.

LEAVES: Leaves are long and narrow - rather grass-like.

RANGE: This species is found in upland areas of grassland habitat. Several other species of Cynoglossum occur in the variety of habitats across Kenya.

FRUIT: The fruits divide into four nutlets. This character is shared by most of the borages, but is very easily seen in this genus. There are fine projections on the fruit.

UNARMED. No thorns.
