Observed on a wooded slope subject to intense grazing pressure. Kiserian, Kajiado, Kenya. Dec. 2014.

FRUIT: Spherical, fleshy fruit with tough skin. Turns orange when ripe.

SHRUB: A medium- to large-sized shrub with stiff intricate branches.

LEAVES: Leathery, simple leaves have smooth but wavy margins. Alternate on stems.

RANGE:

FLOWERS: Small cream-colored flowers on short spikes.
