Eulophia streptopetala

On a rocky slope on the Elgeyo Escarpment, Iten, Kenya. July 2014. I could not have identified this plant without the resources at East African Flora.

This is a terrestrial orchid, growing in rocky soil often at forest edges. Most of the wide, grass-like leaves are set close to the ground just above the pseudobulb, which is below ground. The yellow petals are subtended by large, green and red sepals.
