FLOWERS: Small, bright white flowers arrayed on a long curving spike resembling a scorpion's tail.

PERENNIAL: A long-lived herbaceous perennial.

LEAVES: Leaves are alternate and triangular. The surfaces are hirsute.

RANGE: Origins of this plant are obscure because it was distributed around the world long ago through human transport.

FRUIT: The fruits divide into four nutlets.

UNARMED. No thorns.
