Heliotropum ciliatum (?)

Observed near Mweiga, Nyeri County, Kenya. December 2015.

FLOWERS: The five petals of the bright white flowers have long drawn-out tips enhancing a star-like appearance. The inflorescence branches have a scorpion-tail shape.

PERENNIAL: A long-lived herbaceous perennial.

LEAVES: Leaves are linear to long triangular and dark green in color. There are stiff hairs on the upper surface and on the veins below.

RANGE: Rocky soil in open savanna.

FRUIT: The fruits divide into usually four nutlets.

UNARMED. No thorns.
