Milkwort

Along a sunny trail through Mt. Kenya Forest Preserve, Kirinyaga County, Kenya. 01 June 2017.
Herbaceous plant about 30 cm tall with simple, entire, alternate leaves. The light purple flowers occur singly in the axils of the leaves. Two conspicuous lateral petals appear like wings and the lower petal has a long fringe. Otherwise these plants are obscure and infrequently seen.
