Tropical Boubou

The silky black feathers of the back are interrupted by a white stripe on the wing. The sharp hook on the strong bill helps hold onto prey which may be large insects or small reptiles. Another name for this bird is the 'Bell Shrike' due to the bell-like sound of its call.
