A regal tree with dense foliage of large leaves and widely spreading branches with numerous aerial roots providing additional attachments to the soil and support. The dense shade is a welcome addition to tropical gardens around the world - mostly in low elevation hot climates. Indian Banyan is introduced in Kenya from the Indian subcontinent.
