Kalanchoe

On a thin-soiled rocky hill top, Turbo, western Kenya. December 2015.

FLOWERS: The flowers are in dense clusters at the ends of the several branches. Color is bright yellow. Calyx and stems smooth and hairless.

SUCCULENT: Succulent stems, but the leaves are thick, succulent in texture. Branches up to a meter in height.

LEAVES: Elliptical, opposite leaves have rounded teeth along margin and are thick and fleshy.

RANGE: Many species of Kalanchoe are identified from Kenya.

FRUIT: Dry capsules.
